My Story

Before beginning my own wellbeing journey, I built my career in social care and mental health supporting children and then individuals living with schizophrenia and substance misuse. Over the years, I progressed from a support worker role to Registered Manager and now Responsible Individual, leading services for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This work has been deeply shaped by my own lived experiences and remains a role I continue in full-time, Monday to Friday.

Over five years ago, after relocating to a new area, I found myself feeling isolated and disconnected from my support network. In search of community and belonging, I started a local book club. Around the same time, I began therapy, a transformative step that invited me to explore what truly brings me joy, meaning and purpose.

That exploration led me into self-development, mindfulness practices, and eventually yoga teacher training after speaking with a local teacher. What began as a personal interest soon became a pivotal part of my life. This opened doors to meaningful connections, supported my mental and emotional wellbeing and helped me reconnect with a deeper sense of self.

Driven by a growing curiosity about the body and long-term health, I went on to qualify as a Nutritional Therapist. I have a particular interest in gut health, which I see as a foundational pillar of overall wellbeing, influencing everything from energy and mood to hormonal balance and resilience.

Yoga has been part of my life for many years, initially for its physical benefits. Over time, however, I came to truly appreciate its mental, emotional, and spiritual depth. Yoga has offered me calm in moments of chaos, resilience in times of uncertainty, and a profound sense of connection both to myself and to others.

I am currently training to specialise in women’s health yoga, supporting women through every stage of life, from menstrual health and fertility, through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, and into perimenopause and menopause. This work feels like a natural extension of both my professional background and my personal journey.

I also understand how intimidating it can feel to step into a space and worry that you don’t belong. That’s why I am committed to creating welcoming, inclusive environments spaces where everyone, regardless of background, body, experience, or life stage feels seen, supported and safe to explore their own wellbeing journey.
